The Hamilton Ultimate Club encourages all players to foster respect between community members on and off the field, and supports HUC’s core values of inclusion and spirit of the game.
Diversity means we actively welcome people of all backgrounds – including race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ability or socioeconomic status.
Equity means we work to ensure that everyone has fair access, opportunity and representation, recognizing that not everyone starts from the same place.
Inclusion means we create spaces where all members can be their true, authentic selves, feel a sense of belonging, and be treated with respect on and off the field.
How we show up
We design leagues and tournaments offering gender-specific and co-ed options, accommodating different levels of play.
We offer lower barriers to participation through youth clinics, sliding scale registration, our discretionary fund, and outreach to under-represented groups.
We strive for gender equity through initiatives such as the prescribed pull rule, ratio rule A, and even-gender matches in many of our leagues.
We fully support the gender self-determination of our members. Trans and non-binary players are invited to self-determine whether they should hold a Woman-matching roster spot or an Open-matching roster spot.
We uphold a culture of respect and mutual support guided by the Spirit of the Game – where fair play, integrity and positive community matter as much as competition.
