Do you want to help promote ultimate among youth in your area? HUC will be partnering with McMaster Ultimate and HUC member Cassie Persoon to host an indoor 6v6 ultimate tournament for high school teams in the Niagara and Hamilton region. Our goal is to increase knowledge and spirit of ultimate among youth and those beginning to enter adult leagues (like HUC). We will also be emulating HUC and using a 3:3 gender ratio to promote gender equity. We are looking for volunteers to help with day-of activities, such as helping to run the clinic, “observing” games (enough knowledge of rules to help students interpret calls) and assisting in tournament coordination and field set-up. We are also looking for one or two designated photographers for the tournament.
EARLY BIRD Tournament details:
Place & Time: Thursday, April 4, from 8:30-2:30pm at Youngs Sportsplex in Welland
Schedule: A 45-minute skills clinic in the morning, 4 45-minute games throughout the day, and a break at lunch.
Volunteer perks: shape future ultimate players, show off your knowledge and skills (and maybe learn some more) and free lunch!!
If you would like to volunteer or want to learn more, please fill out the linked google doc with your name and email. We will be sending out more information for volunteers closer to the tournament date. In the meantime, please feel free to contact us at Cassandra.email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions. Fill in the volunteer form here.
